Our integration with Dropbox gives you the option to safely backup your scans and access them from anywhere and on any computer, iOS or Android device.

Dropbox is a widely adopted online service for backing up and synchronizing digital files across multiple computers and mobile devices. When a user installs Dropbox on multiple computers, by default the Dropbox library will be replicated on those computers in addition to the copy stored on the Dropbox servers. Dropbox supports all files type including photos and videos. Files are not compressed. Any file stored on Dropbox is accessible from any device with an internet connection and can be shared easily.

In 2016 Dropbox relaunched it's new Cloud Storage Experience , with an iOS and Android app aimed at helping users manage photos. The upload and downloads are happening in the background and don't need to be initiated or monitored. The free account provides 2GB of storage, but you can earn more space through referrals.

With our integration with Dropbox you can now access your scanned images from your smartphone, tablet or computer, wherever you are.

Dropbox offers an intuitive way to view your photos grouped chronologically with timeline navigation at the bottom of the screen:

How it works

Once you choose Dropbox as your preferred cloud storage service, you will be directed to the Dropbox portal and prompted to enter the login information to enter into your account. Any details that your enter is completely secure and not accessible to any one.

If you are new to Dropbox and do not have an account, click on 'Create a Dropbox account'. You will then be prompted to enter an email id and password and you can move ahead quickly to access your account.

Once you are granted access to your account, the magic will happen. Within a few minutes or hours, based on the size of your order, your images will be uploaded into your account in a folder called [ScanCafe Cloud Drive]. Your scanned images will be organized in your Dropbox account in exactly the same way as in your ScanCafe account. Once the process is complete you will receive an email.

    • How much does it cost?
      The transfer of your digital files from your ScanCafe account to your account with Dropbox is free. The cost of the cloud storage provided by Dropbox is set by Dropbox and is a function of the amount of data you have stored in your account. The rates of those providers regularly changes and has been going down regularly while the free quota they provide has been increasing.
    • Is it safe?
      ScanCafe has integrated with world class cloud storage providers. Millions of companies and individual rely on those services to store and manage their information.
    • How long does it take?
      The time take to complete the transfer of your digital files to Dropbox is a function of the size of your order and the load on the system. It typically takes a few hours, but no more than about 2 business days. Upon completion of the transfer an email will be sent. In the event that you don't receive the this email confirmation within 2 business days of completing your check out process, please contact us
    • What if I don't have a Dropbox account?
      If you don't have a Dropbox account you can create one in a few minutes. You will be set up immediately with account with 2GB of storage space free of charge, allowing you to store up to 800 scanned images.
    • Can I only save a few or my scans?
      Unfortunately, you can't do that. We transfer all the scanned images from an order into your Dropbox account. Once the transfer is complete, you can delete the images or folder that you no longer want.
    • Can I use another cloud storage provider such as iCloud, Microsoft SkyDrive, Box?
      Unfortunately, you can't do that. At this point we only support Amazon, Dropbox and Google Drive but we are looking into supporting other cloud storage providers. Please don't hesitate to email us and indicate which providers you would like us to support. When we decide to add future cloud storage providers, we will certainly take your suggestions into account.
